Quarter final weekend in Europe, it’s been a long time coming, but it’s one of the most exciting in the rugby calendar. I am looking to turn my own recent form around, with a couple of weeks of searching for winners in matches where we have had 1st teams vs 2nd teams. We finally get to see a weekend of top competition. Where the best 8 teams in Europe go head to head. We cover 3 of the 4 matches and as with most of these fixtures the home side are firm favourites.
Leinster vs Saracens 19/9/20 15:00 ko
So the first game we get is a repeat of last years final. Things look very different now. Leinster, wow, they look unstoppable at the moment, destroying Ulster in the Pro14 final last weekend. Their strength throughout the squad is fantastic. Sarries on the other hand, Yes they still have a squad there to compete in the domestic league, but I think they will be taught a lesson by the top boys come 3pm
Leinster -10 handicap 10/11 most major bookies – (lost)
Clermont vs Racing 92 19/9/20 18:45 ko
Clermont do not lose at home in the European Cup. This could be an epic French battle. I am really looking forward to this one. I am full of confidence Clermont have enough to come out on top. But it is two sides who love to play expansive running rugby, it should be one for the ages. Hopefully Clermont come out on top and our tournament winning bet will be sitting pretty.
Clermont -1 handicap 10/11 with skybet and will hill. Others have bigger handicap margins – (lost)
Toulouse vs Ulster 20/9/20 13:30 ko
Our 2nd pre tournament winning bet was Toulouse who are an awful lot shorter now, and I believe they are the side who are going to really put it up to Leinster in the final. They of course have to beat Ulster first, but I think last weekend will have really dented the confidence of the Ulstermen. The last thing the need is a trip to this European powerhouse the following week. Full of French superstars, they are a real team to be at the top for the next 5 years. Unfortunately the Northern Irishmen need a minor miracle to pull this off.
Toulouse -13 10/11 most major bookies – (WON)
In the last match, we expect Exeter to confirm all recent form by beating Saints comfortably, but the handicap seems about right so we leave this match alone
Play the Treble this week. Let’s get our season back on track with a nice winner
