With Covid playing havoc in the sporting world again this week, we unfortunately lose a big match between the two blue boys, hopefully a rescheduled game will not have too much of a effect on the Scots and they will be able to retain their whole squad, as they shouldn’t be punished for the illness in the French squad. But given that loss we still have lots to look forward to this weekend, with two 6 Nations games and a full round of Premiership fixtures. Quite rightly i left the game alone last night, which saw Sale bounce back to form with a good performance adding to the current woes and form of Exeter. We offer bets today in both 6 nations games and also cover some of the action in the Premiership, meaning there is plenty of chance to grab some money off those bookies

Italy vs Ireland 27/2/21 14:15 ko

Once again, we have another Italy match and again the calls for relegation and promotion to the championship. Their display 2 weeks ago, although still being defeated by a better England side had a lot of promise in it. At times they looks competitive and their game management was one of the big points that let them down. For some reason they continued to pass back 2o yards, so their 10 could kick the ball 40 yards but not so they could compete, meaning that England were able to mount the pressure on them, getting free ball in the back field. If they change this policy and kick to compete or kick to touch from 9, they will have a much better chance to force mistakes from the Irish and build their own pressure. With ball in hand they look dangerous and their defensive sets were much better than against the French. Hopefully they will give a real goo account of themselves today. They score the majority of their points in the first 20 minutes of matches, so again will need to score quickly today to put the Irish on the back foot. The Irish on the other hand can feel they are very unlucky not to be unbeaten going into this match. They for me should have won both matches so far, and they should eventually win today comfortably enough, but I expect them to have to work very hard in the first 40 to be able to ease away in the 2nd half. I have not deserted them completely yet and have seen enough in the first two matches to believe they have a big part to play yet in this tournament.

Wales vs England 27/2/21 16:45 ko

It is going to feel very different today in Cardiff, a match that in this stadium is always so fuelled with passion from the overbearing crowd, it is going to feel very different, although I am sure the stadium crew will do everything they can to make it feel hostile for the English. As for what we will see on the pitch, England got a well deserved win over the Italians two weeks ago, and with it a better performance, but as i said above, so much of that was down to bad game management from the Azzuri. England will need to bring something different than a kick chase and big forward runners today. The Welsh have two of the best high ball receivers in world rugby in Williams and Biggar, and they can set a counter attack from anywhere on the pitch. They have also shown two incredible defensive performances in the first two rounds, meaning England may find it hard to break them down. They have ball carriers and men who are superb at turning ball over. If they start winning that gainline battle I think it will be hard for the English to contain this exciting looking Welsh backline. I t will be hard fought and I can see Wales winning, so taking the 6 points on offer on the handicap is a no brainer, but we also take them to win

Newcastle vs Harlequins 27/2/21 15:00 ko

I can’t believe how wrong the bookies look to have this match, Newcastle have not looked a good side since before Christmas now. Where Quins look reborn. They are dismantling sides with a pace and offloading game that we haven’t seen from them in a few years, their older players look like they have a new lease of life and some of their younger more exciting players are excelling in the free roles they are given. Newcastle missing their internationals really hurts them, especially in the back row. Where Quins on the other hand barely seem touched by the international window and are taking full advantage, they can and will today make it 6 wins on the bounce

Harlequins -2 handicap 10/11 most major bookies

Gloucester vs Worcester 27/2/21 15:15 ko

Bottom of the table encounter, which in any other season at this stage might mean curtains for one of these sides, but with relegation off the table it might be a bit more open. Worcester are above Gloucester for the fortunate reason that they have received 4 points twice due to Covid cancelled matches. They really have nothing much going for them on the pitch. Gloucester, continue to create chances on the park and fail to get over the winning line against top opposition. Today they don’t face this and it will give them a chance to convert those chances and hopefully kickstart their season. They have so much invention and even with their two first choice wingers playing in Cardiff later today they have options out wide. I expect them to win and win well today against a poor Worcester

Gloucester -5 handicap 10/11 most major bookies

play the Premiership double today for a nice little profit (3 point win)
