Morning all,

First of all, I am going to do something that you don’t se very often from a tipster, an apology. I am sorry, I got things completely wrong with the Ireland Italy game yesterday. I assumed Italy would have gone away and decided their kicking policy was wrong and fixed the problem, they didn’t. They continually passed the ball back to 10 to kick, which at best gave Ireland clean running ball on half way, at worst, which happened three times, they gave away a penalty on their own 22 for players being in front of the kicker. Until I actually see a change from them, they won’t be getting near our bet slip again. Otherwise we would have had a good day. Wales although there were two controversial tries given, were the better side as predicted so I hope a few of you backed them at 2/1.

Today with the cancellation of Scotland France we have one game in the Premiership to take in, so lets have a look  at it.

Northampton vs Bath 28/2/21 13:00 ko

This could be a belting game for a Sunday afternoon, eat in this encounter before a nice Sunday roast, with a glass of Vino to finish the weekend. Saints have bounced back to form in recent weeks, and for me one of the biggest attributes has been their defensive efforts, no more so than last weekend against Exeter. They were truly superb. They will not give up that defensive line easily today, and it will take a great performance by Bath to consistently break it down, even when it is breached, the scramble defence is very good. Going forward they look dangerous, with some big willing runners, but with Furbank again at 10 today does he have enough to unlock defences for others in that position, I am not so sure. They will play the game in the right areas of the pitch and try to build a lead by forcing mistakes. Bath won a poor match last weekend against a poor Gloucester outfit. It was a terrible game fraught with mistakes. If they perform like that again today they will come off a lot worse. They have a very exciting backline, but still refrain from using them to their full ability, preferring to truck the ball up through he pack who don’t seem to have the force of older Bath sides. Saints will take all the beating today and will have enough to win the match comfortably. So we will play in the Handicap market, but we are also going to look at the try scorer market and total points. In their last 5 matches, the total points are well below the total offered today, Saints averaging 42.8 and Bath 53.8. but one of those was the freak 96 point thriller against Wasps. I am happy to take this on today. Obviously the try scorer market runs alongside this so we opt to play here as well.

Northampton -5 handicap 10/11 with bet365, all others offering 6 points (2 point win) – (lost)

Total match points under 52.5 10/11 with Betfair (1 point win) – WON

Enjoy the game today and see you all next weekend
