We were made to sweat a bit yesterday, but came through to make a nice Friday profit. Irish got there in the end, but I nearly gave up on them after a red on 49 minutes and a yellow on 53minutes took them down to 13 men, but didn’t they come good in an enthralling match. La Rochelle did things a bit easier, they looked irresistible at times and Gloucester did well to stay in the fight for so long. Today we cover 3 matches looking at a couple of titanic encounters.

Wasps vs Clermont 3/4/21 12:30 ko

wasps continue to struggle, they can’t seem to string any sort of consistency together and things don’t get any easier today when they welcome the French giants to the East Midlands. Clermont travel welcoming back some French contingent to run alongside an already daunting outfit. They have the ability to score from anywhere on the park and their bench today would be strong enough to start in any other top side in Europe. Wasps won’t go down without a fight mind and I expect them to be competitive for the first 40, but as the changes start to come we will see Clermont stretch further away and take this very easily in the end

Clermont -7 handicap EVS with bet365 and Will Hill, others shorter (3 point win)

Munster vs Toulouse 3/4/21 15:00 ko

What a treat. This is by far the tie of the round, but I just get the sense the French giants will have too much for the men in Red. So many French internationals coming back into the fold at the right time give them exactly what they need to take this from Munster. When you have a half back partnership like DuPont and Ntamack at club level you won’t find many teams that can stick with them. Munster will not be a pushover, they battled to the final whistle last weekend but came up short in the Pro 14 final. But they just don’t have the strength throughout the squad to live with Toulouse for 80 minutes, and the benches will be the difference in this match allowing Toulouse to take in the last 20.

Toulouse -2 handicap Evs with Bet365, most others showing 10/11 (2 point win)

Dragons vs Northampton 3/4/21 17:30 ko

The Dragons will fear Saints today, just the way they play the match, they can score from anywhere on the park, they are a young exciting team who seem to grow every week. I find myself excited to watch them week in week out at the moment, and Quins are the only other English side who have that affect on me at the moment. Dragons will try and be physical and dominate the set piece with big runners coming off it to give themselves that go forward ball, but we have seen in recent weeks that Saints have been a match for anyone up front and given the chance to release those exciting backs they will take it, and there is no let up from the bench either. One way winner here for me

Northampton -2 handicap 10/11 with bet365, most others showing -3 points (2 point win)

Play the doubles (2 point win) and the treble (1 point win) and we will continue to build on yesterday’s pot. Good luck and enjoy
