Super Rugby Bets
Last week didn’t quite go to plan, but I fully expected to find the first couple of weeks hard. There are only 3 bets I really like the look of this week. Plenty of rugby but unfortunatley the bookies are not taking any chances with their prices.
Sharks vs Blues 23/2/19 13:05KO
The Sharks got a win in the opening weekend but I suspect that they weren’t facing much in the way of opposition. Where as the Blues were fantastic in week one and you could make an argument they should have come away with an opening weekend win vs the all conquering Crusaders. I fully expect them to kick on from that and get their first win way in Durban
Blues win EVS (with skybet, generally 10/11)
Stormers vs Lions 23/2/19 15:15KO
The Stormers were on the end of a hiding last week at the hands of the Sharks. The Lions got off to a sharp start beating the only Argentinian team in the competition. They are starting to become a very consistent side year on year and should win comfortably this weekend
Lions -6 handicap 10/11 (across most bookmakers)
Los Jaguares vs Bulls 23/2/19 21:40KO
The Argentinians were beaten in week one and will struggle again this week against a Bulls side who showed a lot of promise in week one. They could be the South African side to push the NZ sides close this year, but if they have real ambitions of doing this they have to be winning on saturday night
Bulls win 21/20 (william hill, evs or shorter with others)
Play the doubles and Treble this week. Good luck
6 Nations Bet
What a weekend we have in store, two games on Saturday right in the balance and then Sunday you would expect the Irish to carve huge holes into the Italians, but we start in Paris
France vs Scotland 23/2/19 14:15 KO
A couple of interesting selections from Brunel leaving out 2 of the 3 real class acts in his side to give the youngsters a chance. I can’t blame him after the embarrassment at Twickenham 2 weeks ago, I did wonder if this is a real opportunity for the Scots who are not without their own worries. Their injury list just keeps on growing, and picking Horne to play out of position at 10 could be a huge mistake, yes it may firm them up defensively against the threat of Picamoles and basteroud but with ball in hand I struggle to see where the invention is going to come from, meaning they may really struggle to break the French down. And for this reason I am siding with the French the innocence of youth may mean they play without fear and put a real show on the French crowd
France -6 handicap (generally Evs)
Wales vs England 23/2/19 16:45KO
WOW!!! What an encounter this could be, there will only be one side left to possibly win the Grand Slam after this weekend. It is going to be touch a go who comes away with the win. yes the English have been incredible so far in the tournament and yes the Welsh have laboured to two wins. But isn’t that the sign of a great team, to play badly and still get the results. I found myself Going back and forth which way I see this game going and ended up picking my own combined 23. If I had just picked 15 the Welsh come out on top, but it’s not a game for 15 players anymore, and the strength the English have on the bench to come on and change the game has seen me come down on their side. I am really excited for what could be one of the best encounters between these two for years.
England -4 handicap (generally evs)
Italy vs Ireland 24/2/19 15:00KO
This match goes one way, even with a few rested players, the depth of this Irish squad now means you really don’t miss players. They will wear the Italians down in the 1st half and I expect them to already have a comfortable lead when the 2nd half kicks off. They will then let loose and I really fear for Connor O Shea’s men. They could be on the end of a right drubbing to the tune of about 50 points
Ireland -29 handicap (evs bet 365, but generally 10/11)
play the doubles and trebles, good luck
Guiness Premiership bet
very unlucky last week not to get all four games up. We were beaten by two breakaway tries by Wasps to down Bristol. Saints and Quins are just getting better and better week on week. A huge result for Gloucester on Friday night, bath did what was expected of them and Sarries showed they are true champions. This week I have 3 games I want to play with and we start Friday night again.
Gloucester vs Saracens 22/2/19 19:45KO
I was very impressed and happy with the Gloucester performance Friday night. They are beginning to show they deserve to be thought of as challengers this year. But Saracens are very different to Exeter. The way they wore Leicester down and ended up taking them to pieces last weekend was very impressive. It is also very rare that you get a chance to back Sarries at odds against, this is not an opportunity to be missed, If I am proved wrong then hats off to the Cherry and Whites, I have and will continue to champion them this year, but I just think Sarries will be too strong this week
Saracens win (8/5 William hill, generally 6/4)
Northampton vs Bath 23/2/19 14:45 KO
Both sides off the back of good wins, but it doesn’t get much more emphatic than Saints performance last week. Being a former Saint I love seeing them win, but the way they are playing with such attacking intent is fantastic to watch. They seem to be improving week on week and if they get anywhere near what they managed last week Bath will find it hard to contain them
Northampton -2 handicap (10/11 across the board)
Worcester vs Leicester 24/2/19 13:00 KO
Worcester can’t buy a win at the moment, they will look on this game as a potential 4 points, but the bare result for Leicester last week isn’t what you should be taking from the game. They pushed a very good Saracens side very close for an hour and the score line was very unflattering for the Tigers come the final whistle. In Josh Adams, Worcester also lose their biggest try threat to Wales. I just don’t see any other result than a Tigers win.
Leicester win (17/10 bet365 and William hill, all others shorter)
with the prices you can play singles doubles and the treble at 13/1.
Fingers crossed for a big weekend, whatever advice you choose to take, good luck to all
