What a cracking first day we had of the 6 Nations. France put down a real marker against a poor Italian outfit. The French looked superb with ball in hand and took their chances without hesitation throughout the match. How much can be read into that result, I don’t know, because Italy were that bad. Our second game, wow what a thriller considering there was only 17 points in the game. Scotland strangled the life out of England, forced mistakes and penalties with immense defensive pressure and played the game in the right areas of the pitch. England will have felt they were in it the whole game. But in truth, the Scots always looked in complete control. As I feared England just didn’t have a plan B and couldn’t change the way they play. So unfortunately those results didn’t fall our way, but Saints did exactly as we expected. they destroyed Wasps for 40 minutes, before allowing them a way back into the match. But both bets landed there, taking the winning bet run to 16 from the last 17 advised at that point.
Today sees our hopeful Champions enter the fold, in a quiet Wales. And we also take in a trip to Sandy Park where the Double Champions look to try and get back on track
Exeter vs Newcastle 7/2/21 13:00 ko
Exeter got a needed scrappy win last time out against Worcester, but were made to work hard for it. While Newcastle’s early season form is starting to break down a little. Obviously both sides are without internationals, but i think it will hurt Newcastle the most, Mark Wilson and Gary Graham are a huge part of the Newcastle work ethic and are sorely missed when not there. Where Exeter have players to slot in where other vacate and just bring something different rather than weaken the side. It is a tall ask for the Falcons just to get into this game today. Exeter have a big performance in them, they have not quite been at the races the last couple of weeks, but today feels different. I think this will be a comfortable bonus point win for the West country outfit, making it a very long journey back up north for the Falcons

Wales vs Ireland 7/2/21 15:00 ko
An old classic, for some reason, even though I am English, this match stands out for me in the Rugby calendar. I love watching these two sides play each other. This season is no different, but it lacks the normal hostile Welsh home support. This makes a big difference to the Welsh, often more so because of how passionate their support is. It has hurt their form, results and I can’t see anything changing to much. The Irish used last year as a real transitional year to learn the way Andy Farrell wants them to play the game. They have blooded a lot of exciting new young players who have been shining for their provinces both in the domestic and European stage. Their bench today looks packed with talent and game changers and it is them that I expect to take the game away from the Welsh. It will be close and hard fought for 40 minutes, and the selection of Dan Lydiate suggests to me that the Welsh are looking to try and contain the Irish than beat them, it is a real defensive selection. The Irish will ease away in the last 20 mins to win by 10-15 points, or that is what i hope to see to fill me with even more confidence in our pre tournament bets
