After a quiet couple of days and being fairly watchful early because I felt the handicaps were very tight and didn’t offer us any real openings. We’re ready to play now though as there are a few that are very much in our favour, so lets see what they are.
Fiji vs Uruguay 25/9/19 6:15am BST
We are yet to see the South Americans, but they are one of the weakest sides in the tournament. The Fijians on the other hand were superb for 35 minutes against the Aussies, before they lost their standout player to a concussion. They need to win every game to get through to the quarters now and I would not put it beyond them. They are a class outfit and play some stunning rugby. They will rip the Uruguan defence to shreds, and I dont expect a let up.
Fiji -30 handicap 10/11 (most major bookmakers) – lost
England vs USA 26/9/19 11:45am BST
To say Englands opening performance was patchy would be a big understatement. They will be really disappointed with how things went and if they want to progress to the latter stages they will have to be a lot better. The US will be fairly solid for the first 30 mins, but England will slowly break them down, should have a healthy lead by halftime and then blow them away with a strong bench in the 2nd half.
England -34 handicap 10/11 (most major bookies) – WON
Japan vs Ireland 28/9/19 8:15am BST
Two sides that have both got off to winning starts. But Japan will come unstuck against a ruthless Irish team. They made a strong start beating a Scottish team who a lot of people are saying didnt really turn up. I’m of a different opinion and think it was more that the Irish played so well and never let them in the game. Japan won well enough against the Russians in one of our advised bets. They will have big home support again, but this Irish side will be much too strong for them and I think to 20 points offered on the handicap is not even close to being right
Ireland -20 handicap NAP 10/11 (most major bookmakers) – lost
Play the doubles and the treble for a nice win and a top start to the weekend when the Irish bring home the big win.
Plenty more to come, its a long tournament and we are looking for handicap snips.
